Message of the Week

Shana Tovah! This is Craig from the Temple with a few brief messages for this week.

It’s time to eat up, because you may be hungry tomorrow. In case you forgot, Yom Kippur begins this evening and the service starts at 5:45PM at Temple Israel. The schedule for tomorrow starts with the morning service at 9AM and Yizkor will begin at about 11. When we finish the morning service, we’ll take a break and then return for Minchah at 4:30PM. N’ilah will begin at about 5:45 and we’ll eventually break the fast.

We have added trips to the Shab-Bus schedule for Yom Kippur. Today, we’ll have two trips to the Temple. The first will depart the Galaxy at 5:15PM and the second will leave at 6:00PM. There will be one return trip from the temple tonight, at 8:00PM. Tomorrow, we’ll have departures from the Galaxy at 9, 10, and 11:00AM in the morning and again at 5:15PM for those wishing to attend N’ilah. Don’t worry, we won’t leave you stranded at the Temple. We’ll have return trips tomorrow at noon, 1:00PM, and at 2:00PM, and again at 7:15PM. If you didn’t get all of these times, please repeat this message when it ends, or check the Temple website.

Although Yom Kippur ends tomorrow, the holiday fun continues! On Wednesday, we’ll welcome in Sukkot with an evening service and dinner in the Sukkah. The dinner is $25 per adult and children are only $12.50. RSVPs are due right away, so please call the Temple Israel office to RSVP.

The candle lighting time for tonight is at 6:17PM.

Yes, we will have a Torah reading on Yom Kippur, so please join us to find out what the parsha will be. Also, be sure to join us for the reading of the story of Jonah. It’s a holiday standard and you won’t want to miss it.

That’s all for this week. We wish you a very sweet, happy, and healthy New Year and look forward to seeing you at Temple Israel. Shabbat Shalom and Shana Tovah
